To may it whom concern,
I believe its unfair to regulate leveraged investments in te middle of a financial "crisis". The stock is deeply down, so it could be a measure that affects an important amount of people and their welth. I, Rafael Sanabria, invested on these ETFs knowing the risk that they imply in my portfolio. Please let us trade by ourselves.
Thank you for listening
I am opposed to limiting my ability to purchase levered ETFs like upro, tmf, and tna. These funds allow small diy investors like myself to gain leverage without complex option strategies.
Paired with a good risk parity style portfolio it offers less volatility than 100% equity investing and similar or greater return.
This is a huge mistake. Retail investors are much more sophisticated than you are giving them credit for. WE DO NOT NEED MORE BABYSITTING AND HANDHOLDING. We have the right to take the risk and invest in products that we so choose. Let us trade and invest in these complex products. The proposed rule changes are insulting, unamerican, and disgraceful.
The risks and benefits of leveraged ETFs are well known to investors. I should be able to invest in a product that I research and feel comfortable investing in. If we regulate leveraged etfs, what about regulating home purchasing (5x leverage) or the actions of Wall Street.. where large players can easily manipulate single stocks through short selling or otherwise?
I strongly oppose restrictions to my right to invest. I have decided what kind of risk I want to take on, and based on that I have chosen certain investments. I should have the freedom to choose my own investments. Keep your hands off of MY money. It's my future, not yours. Don't take away my rights!
People have the right to take risks on investments they choose to willingly participate. This is a tremendous overreach of freedom to do with one's money as they please. By this proposed rule's logic by FINRA, no one should be allowed to gamble without an approval process and testing (as well as cooling-off period) on how the gamble-based game they are about to play works and
In the current environment of overvalued stocks and bonds across the board, the winning strategy is short everything. You want to take that away, right now, at the top of this massive bubble?
Regulators, the Government, and the FED got us in this mess. Now, the only good option is going short. I understand the risks. And I want you people to stay out of my way.
I don't believe the regulator body's purpose is to decide in what I should invest. You should have broad standards that investment vehicles should meet but that is about where it ends. Leveraged instruments have unique risks but I use them with respect. You cannot protect every stupid mistake people can make and still have freedom.
I oppose regulatory restrictions that will limit my freedom to buy and sell cryptocurrency funds. I currently own several of these investments and I feel completely capable of learning on my own what I need to know in order to transact without significant risks or harm. I support the expansion of cryptocurrency funds, including ETFs. I do not support increased limitations and "guardrails.
I understand the risks associated with investing after more than forty years of managing my own investments. Having inverse and leveraged options is an important element of my investment strategy, especially after 1987, 2001, 2007, and 2020. Is there more to this diabolical plan to restrict my options? Please bear in mind you are elected officials.
