I OPPOSE RESTRICTIONS TO MY RIGHT TO INVEST.
Investing in cryptocurrency funds, such as BITO, is
important to my investment strategies. This my
way to use cryptocurrency funds to
achieve my financial objectives, including by diversifying
my investments as part of a balanced portfolio.
Proposed Rule Change Extending the Pilot Period Regarding the Use of Multiple MPIDs on FINRA Facilities
I oppose to the regulation because I believe I have the right to choose any public investments as I want to invest in. Only allowing financial institutions to invest in leveraged investments is unfair to the public because it gives them the privilege to invest in potentially higher-return ETFs.
Please do not limit the ability of investors to participate in their own financial and investment decisions. It is always clear that investment carries risk, and leveraged and inverse funds are no different. I strongly oppose any limitation on investors ability to determine their own investment plan.
I am attorney and enjoy the access to financial products to trade/invest on my own. I like to think and analyze trends (short and long term). The leveraged products are easily understood (e.g. prospectus available) and are less volatile than futures that involve middlemen.
I respect the right of regulators to watch out for retail investors, but I do not need you to limit my access to leveraged financial products. Similar to PDT rules, these are impotent and silly regulations. Please reconsider your decision to pursue this course of action.
It's bad enough that financial markets are stacked against the little guy. Restricting market tradable products like these just continues to tilt the playing field towards Wall Street. Do not restrict us from leveraged / inverse funds!
All financial investments come with risks. Yes, some people will gamble their money away, but protecting people from themselves is not the appropriate role of this regulatory body. This is not an issue of protecting retail investors from fraud. The risks are well known and disclosed.
As an experienced investor, I fully support this regulation. I assist other seniors in financial management and have far too many inappropriate investments promoted. Anyone investing in a complex, high risk instrument should be thoroughly vetted for knowledge and appropriateness.
If the government can intentionally make bad policies decisions that negatively affect the economy and our hard earned retirement, we should be able to counter the terrible policies with investments that protect us from financial destruction. Thank you
