I strongly disagree with making it harder to trade complex products, specifically leveraged and inverse funds. If I had to meet similar qualifications and go through much the same processes required for margin and options, then I would be tempted to simply go ahead and sign up for those as well or instead, which would expose me to dramatically higher risks than any ETF. It's quite likely
I OPPOSE RESTRICTIONS TO MY RIGHT TO INVEST It is me not regulators that should be able to choose the public investments that are right for me and my family. Public investments should be available to all of the public -- not just the privileged. I have the right to share my views, but the regulators are required to take your comments into consideration in deciding whether to move forward. I
Just because you are titled as "Regulators" Please do not feel obligated to write more regulations ---- to protect me the investor. So far I have missed out on some nice profits thanks to your regulations. Let brokers explain risks and investors take them. I do not want you taking opportunity away because you think you know what is best for ME. Better you should spend my paltry income
I vehemently disagree with a government entity telling/restricting how I invest my capital. Investing shouldn't be a privilege for the rich only, and that is what this ridiculous consideration is. You will allow banks to get back into business with insider traders like Bill Hwang (how'd that workout by the way?) but want to restrict how the average person invests. Absurd. If your
These proposed restrictions on my ability as a lifetime worker and saver is a clear example of overreaching regulation that could deny me to invest my savings in securities through my brokerage account. I primarily invest in American companies, do not day trade and do at times invest in leveraged and inverse funds. I understand the risks of investing and have spent time and considerable money to
I believe I should be able to choose the public investments that are right for me. Public investments should be available to all of the public, not just the privileged. I shouldn't have to go through any special process like passing a test before you can invest in public securities, like leveraged and inverse funds. I am capable of understanding leveraged and inverse funds and their risks. I
In today's investing landscape, it's important that regular people have access to leveraged and inverse funds. As the market is falling, the only saving grace to my portfolio has been leveraged and inverse funds. I am fully capable of understanding leveraged and inverse funds and their risks. If I so choose to buy them regardless, that is my choice and my right. I don't need
You regulate everything, yet I watch the well connected get away with all sorts of corruption. How about enforce existing laws and stop making new ones. If the government and the people running it are so smart, the country would not be $30 trillion in debt. I am much better at making decisions for myself than a bunch of bureaucrats that have not shown they can run anything. Leveraged and inverse
This proposal makes no sense. We understand the risks of owning these securities. The leverage per se is not a distinguishing feature. Individual investors own leveraged securities all the time. We buy futures, options etc.. Leveraged funds are simply a packaged, and often much more liquid way to do the same. All this regulation will do is boost the profits of FCMs and increase transactions costs
