Closing Of Washington District Office
A decision was made in June of last year to close the Washington, D.C. NASD RegulationSM District Office. That District Office officially closed its doors on January 31, 1998.
This notification is to advise readers that the functions of the former D.C. District Office have been divided between the Philadelphia and Atlanta NASD Regulation District Offices.

NASD Releases Interpretive Summaries Under SEC Rule 19c-4
The NASD recently made available summaries of interpretive letters issued under Securities and Exchange Commission Rule 19c-4. That rule prohibits the major securities markets from listing companies that issue securities or take other corporate actions
(a) Chief Hearing Officer Selection Alternatives
Following a determination of whether a Hearing Panel or an Extended Hearing Panel should be appointed, the Chief Hearing Officer shall determine:
(1) which Regional Committee shall be the Primary Regional Committee from which Panelists may be selected; and
(2) whether one of the Panelists may be selected from the Market Regulation
