FINRA's Crypto and Blockchain Education Program equips financial professionals with comprehensive, practical knowledge to understand and navigate crypto assets and blockchain technology. The in-person applied learning course, delivered in partnership with Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business, provides an immersive, hands-on experience that transforms foundational learning into actionable knowledge.
The multiday in-person course combines expert instruction, interactive discussions, case studies, and hands-on scenarios designed to deepen your understanding and increase knowledge retention.
Upon completion, you'll be equipped to:
- Master crypto asset fundamentals — Gain comprehensive understanding of blockchain technology, centralized and decentralized crypto trading platforms, smart contracts and types of crypto assets and products in the market, including stablecoins, tokenized assets and exchange traded products.
- Evaluate diverse crypto use cases and risks — Analyze different crypto asset activities being conducted across the industry while also learning about relevant risks and threats.
- Explore effective compliance and risk management strategies — Learn about regulatory developments in this rapidly evolving space, explore compliance considerations and tools, and increase your on-chain capabilities.
- Apply learning through practical experience — Engage directly with crypto technology, solve real-world compliance challenges, network with industry professionals, and collaborate on capstone activities to deepen expertise.

2026 Registration Fees
Price includes registration fees, hotel accommodations, meals and materials.
Program registration is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. You will receive an email confirmation of your completed registration form and payment.
Payment Options
Full payment is required at the time of registration and can be made by check, wire transfer or credit card. To pay by check or wire transfer, please contact our Meetings and Conference Services Department by email.
Cancellation Policy
Full refunds, less a $250 processing fee, for registration will be granted to written requests received 30 days or more prior to the start date of each course. A partial refund (50% of the registration fee) will be granted for written cancellation requests received within 30 days of the start date of the course.
Traveling Guidance
We suggest that you do not purchase restricted or non-refundable tickets for travel to a course. FINRA assumes no liability for penalties or fare increases should a course sell out or in the unlikely event that a course is cancelled or rescheduled for any reason.

1. Are there any prerequisites for the in-person program?
It is recommended for member firms to complete the self-paced e-learning courses prior to attending but there is no prerequisite requirement to complete this program.
2. How much does the program cost?
The cost for FINRA member firms and government or regulators is $3,200 and the cost for non-members is $3,700. Fees include tuition, materials, and room and board at Georgetown’s University Campus.
3. What is the class size?
The program is filled on a first-come, first-served basis with a maximum class size of 65 people.
4. How do I access the pre-course materials?
Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business staff sends a materials web page link to participants about 4-6 weeks in advance of the course.
5. Will I need to take a test?
No, this program does not include a traditional test or exam. Instead, participants will complete a capstone project at the end of the course. This hands-on project allows you to demonstrate your understanding and apply what you've learned in a practical way.
