Qualification and Educational Requirements
Prerequisites Candidates must meet the following requirements:
  • Complete an interview process
  • Have a minimum of ten years of financial planning experience.
  • Be registered and in good standing with any applicable regulatory organization
  • Hold at least one of the following professional designations: AEP, CEP, CFA, CFP, CIC, CLU, ChFC, CPA, CSA, PFS, JD
Education Requirements Three-day classroom ChFE Institute course
Examination Type Final certification exam (proctored, closed book)
Continuing Education Requirements 20 hours every two years
