Qualification and Training Requirements
Prerequisites

Candidate must meet ALL of the following:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent OR hold one of more of the following licenses:
    • Series 1
    • Series 7
    • Series 22
    • Series 65
  • Be employed fulltime at least two of the last five years with a qualifying company as defined by REISA under its membership guidelines, and actively involved in the direct participation industry;  OR
  • Active full time as a Registered Representative (RR), Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) or Investment Advisor Representative (IAR)

  

Designation Training Requirements

Complete a minimum of eight hours of direct participation program (DPP) or general best practices-related professional development and education including:

  • Two one-hour core REISA courses:
    • Best Practices in Direct Participation Programs
    • Fundamentals of Direct Participation
  • The remaining six (6) credits must be obtained at qualifying sessions
  • All credits must be earned within an eighteen (18) month timeframe
Designation Exam Type

One hundred multiple choice questions with a four hour limit; seventy percent needed to pass

Continuing Education Requirements

Four hours of direct participation program or general best practices related professional development—a minimum of two of the four hours must be obtained at qualifying sessions at REISA conferences
