Qualification and Training Requirements
Prerequisites

Candidates must have a minimum of four years full-time experience as a financial planning practitioner in the field of financial services and must hold:

  • one of the following professional designations: AAMS, AFC, CFA, CFP, ChFC, CLU, CPA, EA, LUTCF or RFC;
  • Series 65 license or one of the following combinations: Series 6 and 63, Series 6 and 66, Series 7 and 63, or Series 7 and 66;
  • life insurance license; or
  • a bachelor’s or advanced degree in accounting, economics, finance or financial planning/services.
