I understand regulations are considered which propose to limit my ability to invest in certain "complex" investments.
There are already additional notices and annual agreements that must be acknowledged when trading in these type of securities. Just because these securities are deemed risky by an arbitrary standard, doesn't mean they should be restricted. There are a number of other investments available to the public that are much more risky than leveraged and inverse ETF's.
We know risks involved w these ETFS it is up to us to have risk management, and protect our accounts.
Leveraged and inverse funds are a valuable tool for maximizing
short term gains and protecting your portfolio in volatile markets. I understand the concerns but I think it's a big overreach restrict the use of these funds by individuals.
US citizens should be allowed to invest as they wish. Regulation is nothing short of communism.
I, and absolutely NOT government regulators, should be able to choose the public investments that are right for me and my portfolio. Public investments should be available to all of the public, not just the privileged.
And I should NOT have to go through any special process, such as passing a prescribed/regulated test, before I can invest in public securities, like leveraged and inverse funds. Lastly, leveraged and inverse funds are important to my investment strategy.
The government needs to stop treating us like babies. If people are loosing money because of there own greed then that is their fault. Please don't punish the rest of use due to the ignorance of the few. Survival of the fittest. Lets get one with it!
Public securities and public investments should remain open to the public and not restricted or regulated. Regulation makes them private, not public.
