Hello, I heard that there's going to be a regulation on leveraged and inverse funds. I know that the market hasn't been good lately and I assume it negatively impacted many individuals, but I believe that's similar to the regular stock market. I admit that there are dangeroud funds (TQQQ or SQQQ) but many funds are a good way for people to distribute the stock evenly and many times better than purchasing just one company's stock. I believe it's wrong to just regulate all funds when there are many helpful funds that are better than purchasing single company stock.
Please do not make any changes to the regulation that would restrict an individuals right to invest freely in all investment options. It shouldnt be up to any committee, board, etc to decide what I have the ability to invest my money in.
These regulations which are meant to help the American investor fundamentally destroy the economic opportunity that investors seek. In attempting to limit risk they also limit many of the best opportunities, strategies and ideas. These regulations fundamentally limit economic freedom.
To whom it may concern,
I vehemently oppose any and all restrictions to my right to invest in the funds that I deem appropriate for me and my personal risk tolerance. I dont need anybody to protect me from myself. I am perfectly aware of the risks associated with leveraged funds, and I should be allowed to take those risks if I choose. Exams, net worth requirements, and cooling off periods should never be required for these products.
I use inverse funds modestly to cushion my investments against sudden downturns in the market. Inverse funds provide a safety net against market volatility and shocks.
Its my business to decide whether to get help with my investments; obviously no one works for free. The added costs will devalue my returns. And a rule like this will either increase the cost and / or crush the market for alternative investments.
Let the market work!
It seems as though FINRA believes they "know better" than investors. Allow investors the freedom to invest in inversed and Levered funds.
Investments should be available to everyone, regardless of net worth.
Seems the only time you guys can have [REDACTED] is when you're telling others what to do or not do. BACK OFF.
