Freedom of making legal decisions is one of the core foundational principles of American democracy. Public investments should be available to all of the public, not just the privileged. Small individual investors are perfectly capable of understanding leveraged and inverse funds and their risks, regulators you don't need to impose restrictions on us. Thank you for your consideration!
REGULATORS:
I not regulators should be able to choose the public
investments that are right for me and my family.
Public investments should be available to all of the public,
not just the privileged.
I shouldn't have to go through any special process
like passing a test before you can invest in public securities, like leveraged and inverse funds. I am
capable of understanding leveraged and inverse funds
and their risks. I do not need these measures imposed on me.
It has come to my attention that regulators are considering limiting access to leveraged and inverse funds without meeting certain restrictions. While I understand the concerns that regulators may have in wanting to protect the investing public from themselves, I believe regulating this space would be an unwanted and unnecessary intrusion into peoples private investing decisions. One could argue that these types of funds carry no more risk than investing in many volatile stocks in the Russell or Nasdaq.
America is founded on the principal of education and independence. As an investor, I should be able to choose the public investments that are right for me and my family. Public investments should be available to all of the public, not just the privileged.
I should not have to go through any process or take a test before investing in any security. As long as we have regulations that financial firms disclose any potential risks and outline what the securities are, investors such as myself will be able to make appropriate choices.
I use these inverse funds to hedge my earnings against rising inflation and economic instability. In my opinion, it is overreaching and punitive to not be able to invest the way I choose to. No test of financial literacy nor any other restrictions should be put in place to invest in these products.
Restricting a segment of investors from leveraged and inverse ETFs is not fair, because it reduces an investor's ability to hedge or bet on inverse market trends, or adjust their exposure levels to market segment trends. Why narrow the investment choices for investors who all have their own thoughts and decisions on market trends?
Any investor should be able to choose the public investments that are right for them. Investments should be available to all of the public, not just the privileged.
Hello,
I am concerned about the possibility of losing access to inverse and leveraged funds. They are a valuable resource in my investment strategy and have proved to significantly improve my overall returns especially in the current state of the market. I would hope you reconsider in eliminating access to these investment vehicles.
It is a bad idea for you to impose these restrictions. Once again, you want special privileges like using leverage only given to the 1%, not the little guys who need it the most. You want to keep the casion rigged for the big guys. Shame on you.
