Online Exam Distance Request Form

Any FINRA* or NFA exam candidate who lives more than 150 miles from a test center to test must complete this form if they would like to request an online exam appointment. To check the distance to the nearest test center, please use the Locate feature on Prometric's website.

The address listed in CRD or TESS for the candidate will be used to determine the distance from a test center. A temporary address–such as one used if a candidate is on a trip–will not be considered for online testing purposes.

Candidates should be aware of the following request process information:

• A request must be initiated by the candidate.
• The candidate requesting to test online must review the online system requirements and ensure that they meet such requirements for online testing prior to submitting this form.
• A single approved request will apply to all eligible open enrollments at the time of processing. If the candidate opens one or more subsequent enrollments and would like this distance accommodation, they will need to submit a new form.
• The request must be submitted and approved after opening the exam enrollment window(s) but prior to scheduling the exam appointment(s).
• The candidate must complete all form fields.

After submitting a request, candidates should allow 3-5 business days for processing. FINRA will notify the candidate via the email address provided.

* Note: This form is not required to take the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam online. MSRB exams are not eligible for online testing, and NASAA exams are only available for individuals who need a testing accommodation. Review the Schedule an Exam page for more information.
