James Maugeri Comment On Regulatory Notice 22-08

I should be able to choose which investments (whether leveraged/inverse or not) to invest in. I fully understand the risks/rewards of leveraged/inverse ETFs. They provide a specific investment strategy within my diversified portfolio. Restricting or eliminating these types of investments would be the same as prohibiting or restricting investors from investing in publicly traded small-cap stocks (or some penny stocks), which may have a higher risks, but also provide a possible higher return. There would be outrage if those were subject to the same proposals. I have been an investor for over 40 years and believe owning a wide range of investments is important to one's portfolio.
