John Poropat Comment On Regulatory Notice 22-08

John Poropat
N/A

Based on my own investment and accounting experience, education and forma FINRA licensing I am capable of understanding leveraged and inverse funds and their risks. I should not be required to go through any special process or passing a special test before I can invest in any public securities, including leveraged and inverse funds. I should be able to choose whatever public or private investments that I deem are right for me and my family not just who you deem are privileged investors. Leveraged and inverse funds are an important part of my investment strategies, which allows me to take advantages of market swings to protect my investments and seek enhanced returns. I use them as a small and limited part of my and my family's overall portfolio investment strategy. Restricting my ability to participate in them is similar to investor discrimination by only allowing a restricted or privileged class of investors to participate. Therefore, I am completely against FINRA and other regulators trying to prevent retail investors from freely participating in Leveraged and inverse funds and investments and oppose restrictions on my right to invest in public investments.
