Ronald Maehl Comment On Regulatory Notice 22-08

Dear Regulators, As an investor, I, not regulators, should be able to choose the public investments that are right for me and my family. Public investments should be available to all of the public, not just the privileged. I agree that there should be warning agreements that need to be checked that an investor understands what they are getting into and the risks, JUST AS ALREADY EXISTS. NO FURTHER CUMBERSOME AND RESTRICTING REGULATION IS NECESSARY. At a time when margin debt is at all-time highs, and mostly on the long side, using leveraged investments is, IMHO, a lot safer than short selling using even more margin! By allowing individual investors to use leveraged and inverse funds to protect their underlying investments, it makes the entire financial system play more on a fair playing ground and, in the long run, provides more security than having a large governmental entity determining what should and should be invested in. Thank you.
