My first impression of this proposal is that it is a reaction to activities of individuals during the recent pandemic. Those who followed Wall Street Bets chasing meme stocks succumbed to, as Glenn Frey wrote in Smugglers Blues, "The lure of easy money is a very strong disease." As such the cure for such affliction would be better found with "Gamblers Anonymous"
The ability for the general public to invest in various types of financial instruments and vehicles should not be restricted, and doing so would be anti-American in spirit. Let us consider and example of why this the case: the internet has helped promote the democratization of information and provided an incredibly valuable resource for individuals to learn, communicate, share ideas, create art,
Please don't make decisions that limit what I can invest my money in.
as an attorney that has believed in upholding the law, this proposed law would diminish the independence and autonomy of investors. we dont need anymore laws from the government to handhold investors from risky investments such as leveraged funds. this is encroaching on many peoples abilities to take advantage from the market. simple warnings and promotion of financial education tools is all that
Government needs to stay out of my business! This is my hard earned money I worked hard for not you. Especially just so you can throw it away on ridiculous things that benefits no one but the criminal politicians ! Leave me alone.! I pay my taxes and not so you can line your pockets. Dont the lobbyist pay you enough or are you that greedy! I say vote out all incumbents!!
Hi - I would like my rights to retain investment in leveraged ETFs. We invest in that knowing the risk and rewards. I have strong objections on "Demonstration of High Net Worth". This would make the rich richer and the poor and average people can't invest to grow their fund/savings.
Because I have a high degree of understanding of the inverse and leveraged funds, I understand why regulation is being considered. However, traders have always been and always should be responsible for their own investing knowledge and actual trades.
I am AGAINST:
Having to demonstrate a high net worth. There are plenty of traders out there with a high degree of trading acumen but low net worth
Leveraged Funds are a very important part of my investment which has enabled me to achieve my investment goals that would've been otherwise not possible to achieve. I strongly oppose the proposal by FINRA to restrict the use of Leveraged funds by common investors.
I really don't think the small investors have to go through any special process like passing a test before investing
I think people should be free to invest money without interference from the government. I think governments role should be to make sure that the playing field is fair. Individuals should profit from their good decisions and pay for their bad decisions.
I OPPOSE RESTRICTIONS TO MY RIGHT TO INVEST. You will limit my options and ability to invest successfully if you implement this [REDACTED]. Im investing my money, not yours!
