I not regulators should be able to choose the public investments that are right for ME and MY family.
Public investments should be available to all of the public, not just the privileged. I am educated, and responsible, well aware of risks.
I shouldn't have to go through any special processlike passing a test before I can invest in public securities, like leveraged and inverse funds
Using leveraged funds provides me a great opportunity to improve my performance and hedge my investments against market cycles. Taking away these investments at this time would drastically affect my ability to invest especially doing it when the market is down a large percentage already this year. Anybody who makes investments in these products is already warned with a message/notice about the
I have been doing my own investing for over fifty years, and for much of that time was frustrated by the restrictions placed on my retirement savings, especially the inability to buy individual stocks rather than mutual funds. Having finally escaped those regulations after retirement I do not want to be told that I am not sophisticated enough to use mutual funds and etf's if they are '
Received the letter, thank you for this reminder. I have been studying and managing finances for a long time, considering that this is a common investment for me and my family. At the same time, I also believe that having this kind of investment is a public investment that every investor should have. Public investment should be enjoyed by everyone, not a privileged class. When I made these
Gentlemen, I would like to object to any proposal to restrict trading in certain securities such as leveraged and inverse funds. I am not a high net worth individual, but I have read several books on trading and investing, have taken several courses and belonged to a trading club for a while. So I feel I have a more than adequate understanding of how markets work and the risks involved.
I am against limiting my options to invest in "complex" investments. I do not run an investing business in any capacity. I am an individual investor. These restrictions would be taking an important tool out of my toolbelt. I should be able to make my own choices on what risk I want to take and when. I should not have to go through testing and other restrictions as I am
Please don't add additional burdens on investors to invest in products like inverse or leveraged funds. I use these in my own investment strategies and are excellent choices. It removes the need for trading on margin which is important for IRAs. These choices should be available for all investors, not just wealthy people or the so called sophisticated investor. Removing these options
If you know how to invest in these larger funds and heavily traded indexes, you probably have learned enough to know the risks and rewards from doing such. There is already many mentions if you're getting into a riskier investment. The focus for FINRA should be maybe helping high school students learn about investments. Not helping people that already have a good knowledge of it be
Please do not interfere in my ability to chose what I invest in. If you want to stress or emphasize investor education on the various risks of different products then so be it but to try and interfere or prohibit everyone except the wealthiest individuals from investing in them is completely wrong and unacceptable. Leveraged and inverse funds are important to different peoples investment
To Whom It May Concern:
I manage a number of family investment portfolios. I am a CPA, Attorney and Computer Scientist. I have been investing in stocks and bonds for approximately 56 years.
I prefer leveraged inverse funds (LIFs) to Stock Options to hedge short-term market volatility.
1. They are liquid
2. I can match a group of equity holdings needed to be hedged.
3. Less risky than Stock
