I oppose limitations on my ability to buy the Funds
I am a retired financial executive with over 30 years of corporate finance and accounting experience. Additionally, I have a Master Degree in International Financial Management. My ability to understand my investing decisions is high. I have used ProShares products as a hedge in protecting some of my equity investments. Especially now, they have been useful tool for managing my portfolio. I believe in life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness and I believe that your attempt to limit my freedom is an insult against me.
I want to express my stance on opposing any regulation restricting retail investors from freely purchasing any ETN or ETF instruments. Baring retail investors from participating in these types of trading instruments seeks to only put hurdles in the way of their profitability and ability to grow their portfolios.
There should not be restrictions for trading inverse or
leverage funds. I usually invest in inverse funds that are not leveraged and these funds are put into the same catagory as leveraged funds. They are not the same. I am against any restrictions.
Finra, your interest in protecting investors is admirable, but limiting choices and opportunities is counter to this goal. Leveraged and inverted ETFs gives the average investor access to investment opportunities that would then be limited to only larger institutions who could utilize sophisticated option and derivatives whereas the smaller investor is excluded. Protecting investors from making mistakes, or "losing" is admirable, but NOT at the loss of opportunity or profit. Please STOP this!
I not regulators should be able to choose the public investments that are right for me and my family. Public investments should be available to all of the public, not just the privileged. Leveraged and inverse funds are important to my investment strategies. They help protect my investments. I use them as a limited part of my overall portfolio. I shouldn't have to go through any special process to invest in them.
ATT Finra
I not you the regulators should be able to choose public investments that are right for me. Public investments are just that - PUBLIC INVESTMENTS!!!! THEY SHOULDN'T BE JUST FOR THE PRIVILEGED!
I shouldn't have to go throught andy special process like passing a test before I can invest in public securities. I don't need or want these measures imposed on me.
I oppose any restriction on leveraged ETF's
Comments:
I believe leveraged ETFs are an important part of diversifying an investment portfolio. The issuers give plenty of disclosure as to the risks inherent with these investments. In addition, there are numerous articles on the internet that discuss the risks of leveraged ETFs.
Please leave the current rules and disclosures in place and do not add additional burdens on the issuers.
I oppose restrictions to my ability to invest.
