In brokerage accounts such as TD Ameritrade, we are free to trade stocks and financial instruments such as leveraged and inverse funds without any pressures of dealing with an actual broker. There is no solicitation or advertising on these sites that points us to any particular fund or stock. Please don't restrict this freedom.
I invest in Leveraged ETF Options as a strategy and occasionally in the Leveraged ETF's themselves. I have been doing this for over 15 years. I have achieved a net profit every single year since Ive started using them regardless of whether the market is up or down. I strongly believe that I should be able to choose the investments that are right for me and that all public investments should be available for me to choose from. I should not have to go through any special process or pass any tests to invest in leveraged or inverse funds.
I found it very alarming to hear that FINRA is considering restricting access to leveraged ETFs. It is very concerning to hear that regulators believe private investors are incapable of understanding the risks associated with a leveraged asset like the ones that I utilize in my investment strategy. These investments undoubtably are more complex than an individual stock, but it is my belief that it is an individuals responsibility and right to assess the risks for themselves before investing their money in any asset including leveraged etfs.
II OPPOSE RESTRICTIONS TO MY RIGHT TO INVEST
I do not think that regulators should be involved in my investment choices. I am perfectly capable of understanding the risks and benefits of investing in leveraged, inverse, and any other fund/stock available to the public. The leveraged funds I have invested in periodically have allow me to hedge against market transitions. They are an important part of my investment strategy and I believe they should not be restricted in any way.
I, not regulators, should be able to choose the investments that are right for me. Investments should be available to all of the public, not just the elite.
I shouldnt have to go through special processes, like passing a test before I can invest in public securities, like leveraged and inverse funds. I am capable of understanding leveraged and inverse funds and their risks.
I am very disappointed how financial regulators are trying to take away power of individual investors to freely invest in public ETFs - leveraged or inversed - which are listed in the public market because they were approved by financial institutions. Yet, the same financial regulators do not place any restrictions on investing "professionals" who short the market or individual stocks without owning a single share for manipulation and their profit. I feel that this move is taking away financial choice of individuals rather than "protecting" us.
I recieved an email today about proposed restrictions on inverse and leveraged funds. I want to express how these funds can be a valuable tool to retail investors
With so many changes in trading in the last few years. No fee and fractional shares. It has opened opportunity to people with less money to invest
Hello Sir,
I would like to tell you that I oppose restrictions on my rights to invest in public investments.
Since investment should be available to all of the public, I should be able to choose the public investments that are right for me
and my family .
I dont need to go through special process before I can invest in public securities because I am capable of understanding leverage and inverse funds and their risks, so I dont need those measures imposed on me.
