I do not agree on restricting independent investors to invest in protective investment categories such as inverse ETF's and other inverse traded funds to allow the benefits of securing my capital during down markets.
I oppose restrictions on my right to invest in public investments. You guys pull this crap every time there is a significant correction in the market,. Buzz off!
I oppose restrictions to my right to invest.
After investing in the market over 30 years I understand the risk involved with different equities, mutual funds, leveraged ETF's, and ETN's. If I assume the risk, I should be able to make the choice not a regulator. Leveraged ETF's are critical to my investment strategy.
I see this as another pathetic attempt at making investing and trading inaccessible to the average retail broker. All investors no matter the size should be able to invest in whatever they like. I personally have lost thousands over the past year investing in leveraged ETFs. However, I accept the losses and take them as a learning experience. All traders should be responsible for knowing the risks before investing and shouldn't have to pass any special tests before investing in certain investments. It's not up to the government to control what someone wants to trade.
SEC's task is not to omit individual investors from their rightful ability to elect what risk levels they can accept through various investments.
Requesting to have continued access to trade leveraged as before. We all can read and know the risks associated with leveraged/hedged investments, without being held back.
While I understand the desire to protect investors, I dont think it is fair to treat all investors as if they are the same. Providing choices with adequate disclosures is better for both investors and professionals. Equal outcomes will never happen, as people behave differently, have different work ethics, and difference preferences and values.
I oppose restrictions to my right to invest.
