I can make MY own investment decisions without the governments involvement!
I mistakenly referred to FINRA regulators as "public servants who work for my government" in my original comment. I missed the fact that this was from FINRA, and not the SEC. I don't need either trying to protect me by limiting my investment choices or requiring me to receive training. I have invested in leveraged funds successfully for many years. They enable me to have a portion of my portfolio invested very aggressively while keeping the bulk of it in more stable investments and income-producing investments.
I invest in Pro Shares and have found it a effective way to invest. Changing it concerns me as it may have a significant negative effect on my investment value.
I understand there are some risks to buy leveraged funds, but I am willing to take the risks.
I have been an active investor for over 30 years, and don't need any government official to decide how I handle my money and investments. Instead of concentrating on retail investors why not focus on insider trading and market manipulation by institutions that trade 24 hours and benefit from high frequency black box front running. Help protect individuals and their hard earned dollars instead of a lopsided trading field.
Leveraged etfs are a great financial tool that bridge the gap between risky options and buying non leveraged funds. For many retail investors we use these in ways that are not risky and hedge our risk. Removing them only harms retail traders as a whole forcing them to use other riskier strategies.
I oppose restrictions to my rights to invest. That is unacceptable when people are still invest in much riskier investments such as digital coins or penny stocks
I oppose the decision if approved to limit me on leveraged investments. This is America, where I choose to invest in whatever I desire.
Who thought this up? Protects large investors at the expense of common man
