STAY OUT OF OUR LIVES
Let people invest freely at their own risk, not just the wealthy.
Voya is regulating what I can invest in with my 401k and charging me money if I invest in something they don't approve of!
I want the access to be able invest in leveraged and inverse funds. I understand the risks and dont want take a test to have the access to invest in leveraged and inverse funds. Inverse funds helps me protect my net worth and savings since its hedge against market drops.
I think restricting access to leveraged & inverse products is a terrible idea. These are useful products for everyone from small retail investors to big institutions. Passing restrictions will simply create a system where it's even harder for someone trying to create wealth to do so, whereas someone who already has wealth can accelerate its accumulation. E.g. you will be increasing the wealth gap.
Please stop trying to protect us from ourselves. We know what we're doing.
The proposed changes are very restrictive. Individuals should be able to decide about public investments. I often use leveraged and inverse funds to reduce the risk of existing investments. There is plenty of information available on their risk/return profiles.
And what does one do with older clients, many of whom have invested for years? This approach would seem to be overly cautious and ridiculous.
I do not want the government involved in my financial decision making. I will succeed or fail on my own decisions. Thank you!
As an investor, I understand the risk associated with leveraged and inverse ETFs. These funds are a small portion of my portfolio. I also use them to hedge my investments and to seek enhanced returns. As an investor I should be able to choose the investments that are right for me and my family.
