I use leveraged and inverse ETF to hedge my positions in stocks and also to increase or decrease my long and short positions.I also take a position in the ETF when i want a position in a stock index and not an individual stock. These are easy and simple to understand and use and are a big help to small investors.Keep the system as it is working!.
I oppose the passage of these new rules limiting by ability to freely trade options
It's very unfair that normal investors would not be able to use leverage and inverse funds! These funds have been a good hedge for me so far since the FED keeps messing up the stock market. Please look at today's market -- how many percentages S&P and Nasdaq have been going down since FED announced rate hikes? There's no safe heaven these days, except using some of the inverse funds to hedge. I believe every investor using these funds has understood what these funds can bring and what kind of risks these funds have.
Dear sir, I do have enough capital and knowing the risk to invest for my retirement, I only use small portion of my capital to invest in those leveraged and inverse funds and trying to enhance my return on my investment! Please never put any restrictions on my right to invest in those leveraged and inverse funds! Thank you!
I OPPOSE RESTRICTIONS TO MY RIGHT TO INVEST
I oppose restrictions on my right to invest in public investments. I should be able to choose the public investments that are right for me and my family. Public investments should be available to all of the public, not just the privileged. I shouldn't have to go through any special process like passing a test before I can invest in public securities, like leveraged and inverse funds. I am capable of understanding leveraged and inverse funds and their risks. I do not need these measures imposed on me through government bureaucracy.
Regulators should not determine what we can invest in.
I, and or my broker, (not regulators) should be able to choose any public investments that are right for me and my family. Public investments are my freedom of choice, and should not be regulated or infringed upon by anyone out side of my household. I believe "Investing" should be available to all who want to do it, public or otherwise. (Free Enterprise), not just the privileged. We clearly understand that all investments are not guaranteed, and I never would invest what I cannot afford to loose.
the leveraged funds, both long and short the underlying, are important tools in portfolio construction. The open and free markets and skill sets should determine the winners and losers, not selected regulations. And we the investors should have to be responsible for our own actions, whether the results are good or not. Nor should we be subjected to pass an exam of sorts to qualify. The current method where the broker asks us to "requalify" is intrusive enough.
