Stop the price manipulation on AMC and GME. Put an end to naked shorting with more required reporting regulations, and increased oversight. Hedge funds and Brokers need steeper fines and tighter restrictions that will actually make them stop doing illegal activity, instead of being slapped on the wrist and still making millions. Shut it down. Transparency is key and the retail investors feel like they are being cheated.

To whom it may concern, Short interest positions should be reported daily. Dark Pool trading should be banned. I can understand the argument for their initial creation, however I do not trust financial giants from misusing the dark pools for price suppression. Payment for order flow should be completely banned. Retail investors should be on an equal playing field as hedge funds and market makers. The way things are currently leaves us at a huge disadvantage because we don't have real-time access to the same information.

As a retail investor I believe that the provably widespread practice of naked shorting dilutes the share pool of companies that I believe in which artificially lowers stock prices. It is a method that predatory short hedge funds use to drive stock prices down, rather than allowing the market to engage in true price discovery. This causes companies which might otherwise be beneficial to society to shut down, illegally lowers my investment returns, and undermines my faith in the market.

I want a more transparent market for retail investors. Live accurate data that isn't 2-30 days delayed and partially reported. It is a distinct disadvantage that retail has when it only gets part of the picture. I also would like to see more regulations and stiffer penalties on naked short selling. The fines that are handed out for FTDs and naked short selling are a drop in the bucket to these big firms who likely profited much more than the fines cost them through their illegal market actions. I think these people need to see jail time.

Reiterating what another commenter said: “ The proposed amendment to FINRA 4560 is a laughable attempt at improving naked short selling internal control measures, actual regulatory action, or really any kind of further obligation on the part of the involved broker-dealers. There have been hundreds if not thousands of regulatory "actions" taken by FINRA related to short sale, and misreporting/misclassification of shorts. This filing appears to broaden the scope of required disclosures. period. end of filing.

Synthetic Shorts should be reported. Naked shorts are already illegal but with what we've been seeing on AMC and GME stock, and probably many many more stocks that just haven't been scrutinized like these two favorite stocks of mine. There needs to be something done to better make naked shorts "synthetic shorts" no longer performed by more than just a fine. These organizations that perform synthetic shorts should not be doing these as they enable them to short stocks continuously.
