I am writing as a humble retail investor. Recent events and research have demonstrated that the entire securities market is built around big players taking money directly from retail investors and legitimate corporations who have zero recourse. The current system for reporting short sales is laughably ineffective. It is completely obscured from retail traders, intentionally preventing free trade
Our country and history has been brought about by change. Change that may have seemed difficult at the start, may have been viewed negatively, avoided, or even resisted, but eventually led to the greater good for all. This is no different. FINRA 21-19 is a change that needs to happen for the greater good of all. It’s a change that is long overdue and needs to be expedited into action. Where there
I am a new retail investor but I have found quickly a strong sentiment of unfair trading practices and market manipulation by hedge funds that leaves retail traders at significant disadvantages. I appreciate the efforts on behalf of FINRA and the SEC to eliminate these events of malpractice by enforcing the rules that are currently in place, as well as, providing the public with more accurate and
PLEASE do not take away ordinary retail investors' right to trade these products. There is an inherent risk in any investment. People who participate in the market should be able to assess for themselves what level of risk they want to take on. If they don't want the risk, there are plenty of other vehicles to trade. Most importantly, these products are the only way ordinary
As an European investor I'm seriously concerned about the undeniable illegal practices surrounding the US stock market and the lack of transparency. Any and all data regarding short sales should be publicly available for everyone in real time to create a truly fair and free market for retail investors.
Hi FINRA, Please take care of the dark pool and short sale activity that's recently murdering the integrity of the U.S market. Some "meme" stocks might not have any fundamentals behind them, but the level of [REDACTED] going on with the hedgefunds controlling time & space is unbelievable. In June and July, dark pool trading has accounted for 60/70% of the trading volume,
Please do not limit our ability to invest in what you deem as "complex products". Trust investors who do not require a big brother to permit them to invest in products outside of the overall stock market. Leverage and shorting or using inverse funds can offer superior returns or prevent a loss in a portfolio.
The market is completely unbalanced when it comes to retail trading versus institutional trading. We need more transparency especially when it comes to institutions or hedge funds hiding their positions within the dark pools. They hide these positions and FTD's in the dark pool and through options trading. It is absolutely apparent there is naked shorting going on with certain stocks in the
"Fines" = "hush money". Put the illegal shorters in jail SOON! Stop building your evidence because it's already been done for you via Overstock.com via gamestop via New Mexico vs. Banks. If the policies are preventing prosecution, put a vote to change them. Not next election, TODAY! This conflict of interest happening with your revolving door has got to stop TODAY! These
I object to applying restrictive regulations to investors trading in ETFs that are leveraged to 2x or 3x. The same for those ETFs that are reversely indexed. The reverse investment ETFs are an especially convenient and efficient alternate to the "shorting" of stock trades. Do not differentiate between leveraged or reversed ETFs and the usual form of ETFs. Simply leave a good thing as it
