Hi,
I use leveraged products as a part of my portfolio allocation.
I dont know if you have read the 2008 paper by Yale researchers Ayres and Nalenluff titled, Life-Cycle Investing and Leverage: Buying Stock on Margin Can Reduce Retirement Risk.
In this paper, they detail how the use of leverage in stocks for young investors can REDUCE the risk those investors will not have enough in retirement.
Please do not restrict my right or ability to invest. I select the funds I wish to invest in based on my own research, knowledge and risk tolerance. I enter the stock market with full knowledge that it involves risk and no investment is guaranteed to be profitable. With that knowledge, I proceed with the investments I believe are a best fit for the long term success of my family. Please do not
Hello, I appreciate the opportunity to comment on this issue. The premise behind the day trading rule is based on protecting the investor, but this limits a lot of small investors from learning the trade. Let's be honest here, there's a lot of "day traders" who aren't successful because they are gambling. Well, at least with the stock market, people are able to make
So you won't do your jobs and limit what MMs and hedge funds can do, but you want to regulate what retail investors can and cannot invest in?? Not going to fix shorts
As a “retail investor”, which is a term I hate, the actions of Wall Street “professionals” over the past 6 months or longer has been eye opening to say the least. As a 43 year old man with a Bachelors degree in finance, who has taken classes on investing, stocks, mutual funds, options, bonds, and various other securities I always knew that I wanted a professional to manage my portfolio and 401k
I'm with passing this rule to improve the transparency of the stock market.
Thank you FINRA for extending the period for commenting. Also, I thank you for attempting to make the U.S. Equities Market a fairer and safer place for retail investors to do business. This year is the first in which I became a direct participant in the U.S. Stock Market. Before this year I only passively participated though my retirement plan, but this year I proudly became a retail investor.
