Stephen Pierett Comment On Regulatory Notice 22-08

I would like to state that I oppose any restrictions to my right to invest in what is right for my family. These are very complex times that have not been encountered in decades of economic and financial history. Leveraged and inverse funds are part of the tools available to investors to manage risk and create investment strategies, such as hedging a portfolio. Also, one should not have to go through special training to use these tools other than the review of literature that is provided by the brokerage.

Please let everyone have the opportunity to invest in the future not just wealthy individuals and financial institutions. Guidance is appreciated but control over opportunities to invest in our future and to make life changing gains is not. People learn best when making mistakes, Americans love challenges and we don't need anyone to cut off our financial opportunities allowing only the wealthy to benefit.

I want to express that I oppose any additional regulation on my ability to invest in leveraged ETFs. My investment company, Fidelity Investments, already has a screen to limit investors options in investing based on their investment experience. I also had to sign additional documents with them stating I knew the risk of leveraged funds. I have invested in leveraged funds for over 10 years. I know the risk as does most who invest in these type securities. No need for more regulation.

THe I in IRA is my individual acct. I as an indivdual am responsible for my acct. This investments were ok while the market was going up. It should be ok for when the market stops declining and starts going up again after it hits a bottom. I am aware of the riskd and except the risk. I dont want someone to tell me how to invest.I plan on using the funds as to improve my investments when the markets improve.
