Dear Sirs: I am providing the following information in response to the possibility that FINRA is apparently in the process of promulgating restrictions that may cause severe harm to my ability to take advantage of the current system that allows investment in public securities and ETFs. As such, my ability to provide financial support to myself, my wife, and my immediate family may be destroyed.
I'm a currency trader and the Dodd-Frank act already makes my life complicated by regulating what kind of trades I can and can't make, "for my benefit", as if I'm a child, forcing me to have to use a foreign broker. Now, they want to further regulate what I can buy "to protect me", again, as if I'm a child. You can't bubble wrap the world, and every new regulation makes everything more complicated, not less.
Generally, complex products as described in this notice should be available to individual investors ('retail') with some obligation on the brokerage to ensure the individual investor understands the structure and risks associated with the complex product. Some brokers do a very good job of this and others seem to just 'check the box'.
It is the best possible outcome for you to allow freedom in trading assets.
Stop taking away our freedoms, government should not have so much control in our personal lives.
I absolutely oppose any restrictions to my right to invest that I feel are right for me and my family. This decision should not be up to any Regulators that don't even know anything about
my situation. Leveraged and inverse Funds are important to my financial strategies.
Such a regulation would violate my rights as an investor.
No public authority has any right to dictate how people spend their money or choose to invest, it violates the freedom of choice.
I am opposed to this proposed restriction. I like the flexibility and liquidity of the current investment options. Do not take it away. Doing so will make it appear that the government wants to keep investment options limited. It should not be.
Leave my freedom of choice alone, let it be heard, Dont forget you will witness before God, better to please God than the world.
