Hi,
I oppose limitations on my investments.
I know very well about my investments and am going to hold it for years. So, the recent drops (or any potential fluctuations) will not impact mucj on my investment portfolio.
Thank you,
Each investment carries its own set of risks. The basis of the free market is the principle that investors must bare the consequences of their investments whether the results are beneficial or detrimental. Providing information of risks is a beneficial service, but trading restrictions could harm smart investors with limited resources.
Leveraged and inverse funds are relatively high risk to investors, but most investors are capable of understanding the risks and invest the funds properly.
For equality, people who are affordable to take the risks should be allowed to trade these funds. Therefore, the entry barrier of leveraged and inverse funds should not be too high, say $50,000.
I frequently use leveraged ETPs to hedge conservative positions. My risks would increase if I didn't have the use of these instruments.
I oppose restrictions
on our right to invest in public investments.
TLDR. I got an idea, instead of pretending the stock market is not a casino under house rules FINRA should explain the house rules in a 1 page document that everyone can read. The rules should include which parties can naked short sale with ridiculous margin on which stocks, which stocks will permanently cyclically fail to deliver and why, and why the DTCC has an obligation warehouse that the public is not privy to the information within. Then maybe I will consider reading this document and explaining why I consider using “high risk” products.
Comments: I believe limiting trading in leverage funds is unfair and wrong. I am more than capable of figuring out how leverage works and if I should be investing in leveraged instruments. If Im able to buy a lottery ticket or go gamble my money away at a casino I should [REDACTED] sure be able to bet it on a leverage stock market etf. Who are you to tell me how to spend my money?
