David Schambach Comment On Regulatory Notice 22-08

Individuals, not regulators should be able to choose the public investments that are right for them. Public investments should be available to all of the public, not just the privileged. Investors should not be discriminated against based on net worth requirements. Regulations restricting investments makes the United States less competitive worldwide for entrepreneurs and investors. The US government should focus on restrictions on casino gambling, lotteries, and high interest loan services that actually target low net worth individuals.

I would truly resent my rights to trade using any vehicle I choose that is legal and can be traded by others, professional or retail. It is my responsibility to understand the risks of whatever I trade and do not need a big brother looking after me. If I loose $$ because I do not understand something, that is part of my tuition of education. I am a grown up and responsible for myself. Please, no more regulations.

I oppose the proposal of restricting individual investors' access to complex investment vehicles. Market participants should have fair access to the investment options equally. The restrictions on individual investors fail to reflect the risk-taking abilities of the investors. It should always be the investors' own responsibility to understand the strategies and risks of their investment, regardless of the complexity of the product. It is not up to FINRA to make this call.
