I would like to see accurate daily reporting of short interest of stocks including how many synthetic shares have been produced to short a stock. I would like all methods of "can kicking" FTDs through options chains eliminated. Short hedge funds should only be allowed to short a stock by actually borrowing real shares of stock for a specified period of time and must return those shares
I have held stock in both GME and AMC since January. I watched as the GME stock was manipulated by several Brokers when they all removed/limited retail investors ability to purchase stock but allowed selling. This resulted in a " Flash Crash" of GME price. Since then we have watched Companies use shorts/naked shorts to manipulate the price of both AMC and GME. There seems to be a
For a mechanism that is designed to drop the price, why is is shorting permitted whilst the price is already dropping? This does not feel like a mechanism for price discovery, rather a way to force the price down, triggering stop losses from people trying to manage risk. If someone truly believes that the price will drop, let them short during the uptick only. Let there be a central database

With all due respect, your current rules are useless and are easily ignored and/or side-stepped. There is no transparency in the sector concerning shorts. Numbers are self-reported and easily manipulated, hidden, or misrepresented. Without mandated, accurate, and daily transparency of short data, the entire stock market is subject to malfeasance. The retail investor, as well as institutional
Recommend weekly reporting by from financial institutions and made public on stocks shorted and positions held for shorted stocks. Require increase financial penalties in excess of 75% of invested value to errors in reporting shorted positions
The fact that hedge funds can manipulate a stock with short selling stocks that are not even available is a crime that needs to be punished. This is not a new senerio but one that has been overlooked for a long time. Now millions of retail investors have realized the fraud and are demanding action. If this is not rectified the retail investor will pull out of the stock market as it is not a level
Thank you for allowing the opportunity to post feedback and make recommendations to make the system fair for all traders. I feel that short interest should be reported intraday. If a stock price can be updated within milliseconds then this should be possible too. I also feel that large institutions that have over 100,000 of any stock should have to report their short positions pre and post market
Naked short selling in US markets is grotesque and I have no confidence in stocks because of it. Seemingly concrete evidence of this illegal market behavior is apparent in cases such as Overstock Inc vs Goldman Sachs & Co, but no regulators appear to be serious about the problem. Market Makers insist that the mechanisms that allow this activity are necessary because they “provide
