Hilliard Gastfriend Comment On Regulatory Notice 22-08

FINRA Regulators: I am concerned about new regulations that might ban or limit my ability to invest in certain mutual funds/EMFs, specifically those that would limit or ban leveraged and/or inverse leveraged funds. I can't help but guess that the reason Vanguard recently blocked access to these funds came ahead of your possible system-wide regulations. I have contacted Vanguard to express my distress over their situation, which in their case, is logically unsound and unreasoned considering that they allow options trading of almost all stripes and varieties.

I believe it is the investor's right to participate in any open and public investment. It is up to the investor to decide what is appropriate risk for oneself. Public investments should be open to all of the public, not just the privileged! Leveraged and inverse funds are important to my investment strategies! I use them as a hedge for my portfolio and to enhance it! Limiting the use of them will negatively impact my entire portfolio!

I should be able to choose the public investments that are right for me and my family. Regulators SHOULD NOT restrict public investments. Public investments should be available to all of the public, not just the privileged.
For example. I use leverage and inverse funds, including that to protect (hedge) my investments. I agree these investments
should only be a limited part of ones overall portfolio.

I write ti make clear that I should be allowed, as an investor, to participate in any public investments such as leveraged an inverse funds. These should be available to all investors, not just the wealthy. It should be a level playing field.

I dont need regulations nannying me. Im more than capable of understanding the risks of investing in leveraged and inverse funds.

Leveraged and inverse funds are an important part of my investment strategy and I want to continue to use them with my own portfolio. My portfolio is mine to operate.

Nate Ahlgren Comment On Regulatory Notice 22-08

It does not make any sense to create legislation to make investing more exclusive, especially if it rules out the very people you espouse to "protect". The last thing we the people want from FINRA is to make investing yet more of an exclusive club for the elites. It is honestly disgusting that you are pursuing legislation in this domain given the glaring issues which have come about under your jurisdiction.
