I use inverse and leveraged funds to hedge my portfolios. Putting that beyond the average investor's reach gives the "Big Guys" one more advantage over the market and the small investor. Please do not restrict this useful investing tool to the large investors.
Please consider the small investors who want to hedge their investments in times of turbulence. The small investor has few places to go because the larger firms which might assist with hedging will not do business with a small investor. The rich get richer generally at the expense of the small investor, More tools like these, well monitored, are the better solution. Taking away tools like these works to the small investors disfavor.
I utilize many leveraged ETFs which is beneficial when requiring leverage but not having to use margin. Each trade is also accompanied by warnings from the broker and most people I know are aware of the issues. Very beneficial to provide a hedge when markets are crashing as it is now.
So many of the funds that may be at risk are important for individual investors to be able to access. It seems anti-democratic to keep them away from small investors and to only grant access to some of the best types of funds to rich (aka 'qualified') investors.
This market is an open market, and I should NOT be restricted from trading leveraged funds as I use them to expedite a portion of my portfolio, as well as inverse funds that I have traded as a hedge against my portfolio. The market should remain open for retail inverters without restrictions
Do Not take away leveraged and invese exchange traded products from investors.
Central bankers and government deficit spending have created once unimaginable asset bubbles, risk, and volatility.
To navigate these treacherous conditions, you need to have advanced tools and investments, and leveraged and inverse ETFs are part of that toolkit.
These investments are an important part of managing risk for a small investor like myself. I'm able to deploy a smaller amount of resources to hedge downside risk while maintaining longs/cash.
We trade Options with much more risk and leverage.
Please let us continue to traded leveraged funds.
As an individual investor, it took me years to improve my investment method, I have been quite successful at doing so, only when learned the usage of leverage funds. These tools have allowed me to achieve respectable returns while avoiding the most damaging strategy of all "MARGIN".
I urge you as regulators, to protect, as citizens, our judgment independence and liberty at using approved trading and investing tool.
