Please cease and desist with any plans to alter my ability to make financial decisions on my own behalf! I do NOT need a caretaker, custodian, or any other government assistance here.
I understand that regulations being considered by FINRA might impact my ability to invest in leveraged funds or place an unnecessary burden on being able to do so. I have been managing my portfolio for only a few years now and am on a fast learning curve. Investing in a triple leveraged index fund was not such a hard decision and I put less than 5% of my total wealth in it. I've made bigger mistakes than that! I don't understand why FINRA would do this when we investing in cryptocurrency, meme stocks and other risky assets are much scarier in my opinion.
Proposed Rule #S7-24-15 is harmful to open free markets and exceeds the intended reach of the Commission. Despite the beliefs of our government and its lifetime bureaucrats, the public is capable of thinking for themselves. We are not obedient surfs dependent upon elitist politicians for our wellbeing.
Leverage ETF is very important for your investment portfolio, as tools of hedge and positive optimistic options in US economics. I strongly believe in US technologies and their innovation, which should be open to any ranges. US economy overcomes current economic fluctuation is eventually, with no doubt.
As an individual investor, I very much value the use of inverse and leveraged ETFs to assist me in meeting my financial goals. I ask that you do not limit in any way a retail investors ability to utilize these products. Thank you.
Like my husband posted as well, I share his sentiments exactly:
I am an experienced investor who is aware of how ETFs and inverse type funds work. Like any other investment there is due diligence and risk, which I accept. I dont think FINRA should over reach and and limit availability and access to these instruments. Instead, they should focus more in investor education, especially to younger generations that are crafting their investment strategies, and not focus on closing access to these instruments.
Comments: Please do not limit access to leveraged and Inverse ETFs to retail investors. These products serve an important need in my overall investment strategy.
I have been investing and using leveraged and inverse funds for several years. These ETFs provide simple access to more complex investing and trading strategies that would be difficult without these products. I feel that the current disclosures and agreement are sufficient for access to the ETFs.
Please do not impose these type of additional regulations. I'm a big boy who knows the risks and benefits of these investments.
