Christopher Deimel Comment On Regulatory Notice 22-08

I oppose the proposed additional regulations for investing in leveraged and/or inverse funds. I am fully capable of understanding the risks involved and currently use some of these investments to hedge my long positions during the recent and ongoing market downturn.

In fact, without such investment vehicles being available, my financial position would be much more deteriorated than it is using such strategies.

I have learned that you are considering limiting investors ability to buy leveraged and inverse funds. I have had terrific successes with these types of funds and in fact the bulk of my trades are using this as part of my investment strategy.

Please reconsider, and leave these securities as-is so that we can buy and sell as we should be allowed to do in a free market economy. All the risks and rewards are ours - we don't need a nanny state to "protect us".

Thank you &

As a Financial Advisor, we have a small portion of our practice that uses leveraged and inverse ETFs in our clients accounts. We fully understand the risks involved. We employ multiple analytics in our decision making process, and use an active trading system in an attempt to mitigate the risks. The long-term results can be quite substantial for our clients. We feel it would not be in our clients' best interest if these products became restricted or prohibited. The proposed regulations appear to be overreach and would limit our ability to work in our clients' best interest.

Dear FINRA Regulators, In regards to Regulatory Notice #22-08, as an individual investor, who has used leveraged and inverse ETFs extensively, I oppose proposed restrictions to my ability to invest in these products as I see fit. I left Vanguard because of their decision to eliminate the ability of investors to use these products. As an adult who is capable of understanding the risks involved, I do not need another layer of complexity and red tape to improve upon that understanding.

Dear FINRA,

I dont believe it is your right to give financial directions to retail investors. Inverse funds are part of my investment strategy. Just like larger institutions and high net worth individuals, I use these to hedge. It would not be considered a fair market practice if I am cut out from these investments due to my net worth or experience level. Again, FINRA or any regulators are in no position to be giving retail investors financial advice or direction through discriminatory practices. Please reconsider this rule.

I oppose any restrictions on my right to invest. Please do not revoke my right to choose the public investments that are right for me and my family. Public investments must be available to ALL of the public, not just the privileged. Individual investors like me need the ability to use funds such as High Yield Bond Funds, Leveraged/Inverse Products, and Asset-Backed Securities to diversify and protect our portfolios as needed. I fully understand these funds and have been trading them for years. I understand their risks as well as their benefits.
