Andrew McElduff

Vice President in Member Supervision, Head of FINRA’s Membership Application Program (MAP) and the Deputy Head of FINRA’s Risk Monitoring Program

Andrew McElduff is a Vice President in Member Supervision, and the Head of FINRA’s Membership Application Program (MAP) and the Deputy Head of FINRA’s Risk Monitoring Program.

FINRA's MAP Group serves as the entry point to the securities industry by ensuring that prospective and current members meet FINRA’s Standards for Admission. MAP evaluates the planned business activities—including financial, operational, supervisory, and compliance systems—for prospective member firms and material business changes for current member firms.

FINRA’s Risk Monitoring team is a member firm’s primary contact point at FINRA. Through its ongoing and proactive monitoring, Risk Monitoring enables FINRA to implement a risk-based program that effectively focuses its resources and regulatory responses on risks of concern. To focus the expertise of staff and in recognition of member firms’ different business lines, the Risk Monitoring team is organized around the following business lines: Retail, Diversified, Carrying and Clearing, Capital Markets, and Trading and Execution.

Mr. McElduff and his team serve FINRA by providing a consistent awareness and analysis of member firms, which includes the assessment of financial, operational, business conduct, and trading risks. The team is also responsible for coordinating with FINRA’s Examination Program Management team on the strategy and execution of examinations for member firms.

Before assuming his current role, Mr. McElduff was the Head of Retail Risk Monitoring, where he was responsible for providing strategic leadership on risks affecting retail member firms and investors. Prior to joining Risk Monitoring, Mr. McElduff held examination and management roles in Member Supervision’s Examination Program.

Mr. McElduff holds a B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
