This new rule is unacceptable.
I strongly oppose these proposed regulations! This country was founded on the premise that the average citizen has enough common sense to take care of himself and decide what is appropriate as far as his personal finances are concerned. This is just another example of governmental overreach and the end result will be that only the very wealthy will have access to these investments. In my opinion that's very likely the "real" reason behind this proposed legislation if the truth were known.
With regard to FINRA Regulatory Notice #22-08, I encourage regulators to abandon the attempt to replace or limit the public's existing access to leveraged and inverse funds.
I want to be free, not "protected". I should have the same access to these financial tools as anyone else.
Me- not regulators should be able to choose the public investments that are right for me and my family.Public investments should be available to all public not just the priviledged. I shouldnt have to go through any special process like passing a test to invest in public securities. I am capable of making inverse and leveraged funds and their risk.
Investors have the right to decide which public equities, bonds, and funds they want to buy. It is their right to freely access the entirety of public securities markets without arbitrary restrictions.
When tyrants in third-world dictatorships want to steal freedoms from their citizens, they shamelessly grab them.
When tyrants in first-world "sophisticated" nations want to steal freedoms from their citizens, they grab them under the guise of "safety" and "security."
I strongly oppose restrictions on my trading accounts. Why would you do this? I have been trading these vehicles for years. You may well be opening yourselves up to class action lawsuits. You would be interfering with peoples ability to earn a living.
I want to continue using leverage etf
